International volunteers accomplished and experienced a plenty with us in and around Tipu during the last two weeks. Now a lot of change is to be seen on the grounds.
This year's building camp took place from the 24th of July to the 6th of August.
16 volunteers arrived from Germany, Estonia, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands on Sunday and moved either into the village house or the huge Tipi tent.
After getting started on Monday, including traditional treats at the international evening, we were ready to begin with multiple works.
Throughout this two weeks a lot was accomplished. The chicken and rabbit stable, including the run, is finished so the first two chicken moved in today. But more change is to be seen on the Tipu nature school grounds. The fence was extended, the lawn mowed, paths gravelled, weeds pulled up and tidied up. Also on the Pauna hiking trail the lawn was mown, bushes cut back and information boards set. Of course also the wooded meadow in Oksa was mowed as every year.
Besides work there was also time for cosy bonfire evenings and different excursions. The folk festival in Viljandi in perfect sunshine was surely a highlight as well as the canoe trip on the Halliste, the hike to the Öördi lake and the sauna evening after a visit in the bog.
